Welcome to Diamond Beach Villa, our secluded beachside sanctuary in northwest Lombok. Shaded by whispering teak trees and coconut palms, the villa comprises a cluster of joglo-styled, wooden Javanese houses carefully arranged to echo the feeling of traditional Javanese village. Our concept was to create a different world, in keeping with tradition, in harmony with nature, and with accommodation that is exotic, luxurious and romantic. The wooden ‘Joglo’ houses were designed and built in Java, and then transported to Lombok to be reconstructed on site.

The property provides luxury accommodation for up to ten persons (plus three children on extra beds) in five, self-contained, fully air-conditioned bedrooms including the master suite with its cosy sitting area and additional living room. The master and each of the guest bedrooms is blessed with a sea view, and each completed with a private, ensuite bathroom. Additionally, guests can enjoy the facility of a hugely spacious, open-sided living pavilion, a glamorous semi-open-air dining pavilion with adjoining modern kitchen, and a 20-metre freeform swimming pool, complemented by a joglo pool bar. A seaside coconut grove offers a magnificent setting for a wedding, complete with a romantic wedding gazebo.

Each building showcases a distinctive red tiled, trapezium-shaped joglo roof, with a tall and steep, central section designed to mimic a mountain. The high part of each roof is supported by four main wooden columns called ‘soko guru,’ literally translated as ‘the master,’ completed with the ‘tumpang sari’ (essential layers) – a series of staggered horizontal beams with elaborate carvings – that tie the pillars to one another and support the central portion of the roof. In this modern interpretation, open sides or picture windows allow the natural light to stream into the dwellings, accentuating the ornate carvings. Today these enchanting buildings represent a bygone era, and way in which to preserve, share, and celebrate the rich heritage of Indonesia.

Diamond Beach Villa offers numerous relaxation areas, so guests will always find a private spot for peace and quiet. In fact, a large family or group of people could stay at the villa and still lose each other within its depths. Cool sea breezes and the rhythmic sound of the waves combine to create a close to nature experience. At night, the villa takes on a different persona: lulled by the rhythmic murmur of the waves just a few metres away, the Joglos are bathed in a glow of soft amber light.

A holiday at the villa will be a family experience to be cherished; a place to relax and escape the pressures of home and work, and a chance to play with the children in a stunning and safe environment and take long, unhurried walks up and down the beach. Offering the perfect holiday for a family or a group of friends, Activities here include swimming, snorkelling sea-canoeing, fishing, cycling and swimming. For the more adventurous, there is the opportunity to climb Mount Rinjani or play a round of golf at the spectacular 18-hole Kosaido course. A snorkel and dive around the tropical coral of the Gili islands is just 15 minutes by boat from the villa. A car and driver is available (at additional cost).
