Diamond Beach Villa is located near the village of Tandjung, with magnificent views of the coastline, mountains and the neighbouring Gili Islands, just a short boat ride away. Here, in this sparsely populated region of Lombok, the landscape is shaped by tobacco, coffee and cocoa plantations, together with fields of soya, peanuts, maize, cassava and cashews. Tandjung is an attractive Sasak market village with stalls overflowing with local produce; this is also home to The Oberoi Lombok Hotel, complete with a jetty – should you wish to arrive by boat, and a gourmet restaurant. A short drive away is the Lombok Golf Kosaido Country Club, an 18-hole championship course, open to the public. The view from the villa of the Lombok Strait, the Gili Islands, the mountains and the coastline, is magnificent. It is safe for swimming here, and great for snorkelling and sea canoeing. The Gilis are a trio of tiny emerald islands, floating like a necklace of pearls in a turquoise sea. Gili Trawangan, Gili Meno and Gili Air are all blessed with white, hourglass-sand beaches, and amazing coral reefs, and there is plenty of nightlife on Gili Trawangan. The islands can easily be reached from the villa by boat. Sengiggi, 41km to the south, presents the only nightlife on mainland Lombok, as well as an art market selling many Lombok and Indonesian antiques and curios.
